Frequently asked questions

What does "free to sign up" actually mean?

You can create your BenefitX account and configure your plan without paying anything. We collect your payment method during signup, but you're not charged until you add your first employee. Once you do, the $45 PEPM kicks in on the next monthly billing cycle.

What if I sign up but don't add employees?

Your account stays free. After 90 days of zero employees, we send a reminder. After 180 days we hibernate the account. You can always reactivate by adding an employee.

Are credit cards accepted?

Yes. ACH (bank transfer) is the default and recommended option because the fees are lower. Credit cards work too if that's your preference.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There's no annual contract. Cancel from your portal and your subscription ends at the end of the current billing cycle.

How do employees pick plans?

Each employee gets a personalized marketplace at your-company.benefitx.com. They browse health, dental, vision, and Medicare options for their ZIP code, or talk to your assigned licensed advisor for one-on-one help.
